Minced Meat with Vegetables.




Ingredients :-

  • 750 gms minced meat
  • 2 big onions(finely chopped)
  • 1" ginger (finely chopped)
  • 6 cloves garlic(finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 150 gms green peas
  • 2 big potatoes( chopped)
  • pepper powder to taste
  • salt to taste
Method :- Heat ghee in a vessel. Fry onions, ginger, and garlic till golden in colour. Add tomatoes to the above and fry well till it forms a paste. To this add the minced meat along with pepper powder and salt. Fry on high for 5 mts. Finally add peas and potatoes and cook on a slow flame till done. Serve hot with brown bread or roti.

  1. Wow May, Reading your recipes makes me feel very nostalgic. Mum used to cook all of this and I used to too, when I started out. But once I started traveling around, I started picking up on the easier recipes and then really got used to a lot of shortcut cooking.

    Nowadays when we go home, mum makes the favorites like kube mutli, bafat, indad etc. But these simple heart warming dishes like mince and vegetables are rarely on the menu that we demand.

    You are inspiring me to put in a little more effort into my cooking and rediscover the Mangi roots in my food. Now, if I don't have enough time on FB, you know who is to blame :)

  2. Thanks Kim for the comment!!! I too have a lot of shortcut recipes, but have never stopped cooking many of the mangalorean dishes. Infact it is hard to cook our mangy dishes here due to the lack of certain ingredients!!!
